In Rebel Hands

In Rebel Hands
On May 13, 1987, during a moonlit night in Mozambique, six missionaries and an eighteen-month-old girl were abducted at gunpoint from their missions base and medical clinic. This work discusses the profound effect this experience had on the author's understanding of humanity, the rivers of bloodshed throughout Africa, and the hope in Christ. The book explores the deepest dealings God had in these missionary lives that tested them and their relationships...but ultimately showed them they were not in Rebel Hand's, but His.

  • Author: Ras
A personal account of a true life hostage situation. Trish writes very movingly about her ordeal and the extreme difficulties she encountered during her 3 month captivity. Her bravery is apparent, but it is her openness and honesty about her struggles that touched me. This book is both engrossing and challenging. I recommend it!
  • Author: R. Battye
The story is beautifully written and evokes the beauty of Africa and the pain of its people. Trish has captured her faith and the power that Christ has given her and her husband Roy to follow through their vision of Christs work on earth.
This book allows you to follow them on their traumatic journey through the Mozambique bush and shows how faith conquers all.

I was fascinated to read this memoir, the true story of a small group of Christians who were captured by rebel forces in Mozambique and forced to march through montaine rain forest and the African bush for weeks on end. I passed the paperback straight on to my father, trying to tell him how exciting it gets.

When I was in Africa during a mission, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the perkins family who graciously took us in, fed us and made us feel welcome in their home. Simply good people. Their account in this book is a must read and gives everyone a perspective of how dedicated they were during this book to their cause and continue to be.

    One of the BEST!!
I love this couple and heard their story right from them. God was so gracious in the ways He protected them. Their story is one of courage, bravery, determination and intense love of the LORD Jesus Christ. I know they have forgiven their captures and have such a love for the Mozambican people. I have visited twice and would return in a heart beat, if it is the LORD's will. What a great work they continue doing.
